“It’s community building”

In a piece that also ran on Forbes, Sarah Seltzer of Women’s E-News wrote up this great overview of our work the other day:

Moore began thinking about gender politics from her perch as an editor of a comics journal and later as an editor for the “Best American Comics” series, an annual anthology published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

She read far and wide and noticed that while the names of those who were getting published in vaunted venues were mostly male, the proportion of total work coming across her desk was not. … “It’s community-building, finding facts to confirm things you’ve experienced,” [Nicole] Boyett adds.
