Lyttle started her career at Western Printing and Lithography in mid-1950s. Lyttle began work correctings and erasing on the comic books they published, since Western had told her that they “didn’t hire girls.” However, she would soon write and draw novelty pages, comic pages within tittles such as Roy Rogers, Little Lulu, Tarzan, Mickey Mouse Almanac, Silly Symphonies, and The Sleeping Beauty.
